for Armed Forces Leavers Programme

Prodactive, in partnership with TechVets, are delighted to offer the Smartsheet for Armed Forces Leavers Programme. This programme, exclusive to the UK, provides complimentary Smartsheet licences and training to eligible Armed Forces leavers to support a successful career transition.

Smartsheet is the enterprise work management platform used by over 80% of the Fortune 500 and which enables everyone to work better, at scale.

The Smartsheet for Armed Forces Leavers Programme aims to recognise and support those who have served as regular members of the UK Armed Forces as they transition to new careers beyond the services. It provides participants with twelve months’ access to this world-class platform, along with support to upskill in their use of the software and a series of free tools to help them manage their career transition effectively.

Prodactive is an award-winning Smartsheet-aligned partner that enables businesses around the world to transform execution and unlock potential in their people and organisation leveraging Smartsheet. As a Forces Leaver himself, Rich Coles, Managing Director and Founder, has established this programme to help other Forces Leavers achieve their potential outside the Armed Forces faster.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

The initiative is aimed at UK Regular Armed Forces leavers within 6 months of leaving and up to 6 months after leaving in good standing to help them with their transition to a civilian role.  It is not open to reservists in the UK Armed Forces on the basis they will have had access to civilian employment and therefore the resettlement transition is lesser.

WHO WILL IT BE USEFUL FOR?

The aim of the initiative is to assist those seeking management roles after they have left regular service in the UK Armed Forces by providing some useful templates specifically designed with Armed Forces leavers to manage their job search and networking.  It also provide access to a globally recognised leading Collaboration Work Management tool that is also a leading project management software platform.  Given many Armed Forces leavers consider roles in project management (PM) and do lots of PM-related training courses, but never get to use any PM software, this will change that and better equip them to hit the ground running.

WHAT DO YOU GET?

Eligible registrants will be granted 3x Smartsheet business licences on a 12-month promotional account, and Prodactive will provide specific onboarding, online events, and access to a series of templates specifically designed with Armed Forces leavers in mind, and well as access to Smartsheet's free template set available in its Solution Center.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

Ultimately, as much or as little as people wish.  You could simply sign up for the licences and up-skill yourself using materials made available, or you can get involved in our onboarding cohorts, where we trust you will collaborate with others at similar stages in their resettlement and learning journey, and ideally you will then help mentor others through the same process.

ARE SPOUSES OR PARTNERS ELIGIBLE?

An eligible Armed Forces leaver needs to register.  As they will get 3x licences, they can elect to give one of their licences to their spouse or partner.  Note bereaved partners or spouses of serving Armed Forces members will also be eligible to register for up to 12 months after their tragic loss.

DO I NEED TO BE TECH SAVVY TO SIGN UP?

You don’t need any specific IT or ‘tech skills’ to get huge value from this programme and Smartsheet.  These days we all use technology without realising it.  By merit of reading this, you’ve demonstrated you already have appropriate ‘tech skills’. Smartsheet is incredibly intuitive and what’s most important is having curiosity and a problem-solving mindset.  We will provide content and online sessions for those who want it so you can up-skill at your own pace, on your own or as part of a cohort.

WHAT IS SMARTSHEET?

It's the leading platform for collaborative work management (CWM) used by over 80% of the Fortune 500 and companies around the work to collaborate, manage and track work with much greater efficiency and visibility, enabling people and organisations to execute with excellence and optimise efficiency.  Have a look at the short video below for a brief overview – or look around our website.  We’ve also got a YouTube channel where we showcase a wide range of what you can achieve with Smartsheet.

Rich Coles, Managing Director, Prodactive

As an Armed Forces veteran, I also made the transition from a career in the military to the civilian workforce so know first-hand some of the challenges Forces Leavers face.

Over 20 years later, during which time most of my industry experience has been in project and programme management, I now lead Prodactive.  We help organisations around the world unlock value and potential in their people and organisation, primarily using Smartsheet.

Given many in the Armed Forces have very little exposure to business software during their service careers, the aim is to provide forces leavers with access to this world-class platform, along with support to upskill in it and a series of free tools to help them manage their career transition more effectively.

HEAR WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY.

James Murphy

Director, TechVets Programme, Forces Employment Charity

Ex-Army

"The TechVets Programme has been built on partnerships and collaboration to ensure that those in the Forces community are able to access great careers that make the most of their valuable skills and experience.
I am very pleased to be part of this partnership as this initiative is another example that showcases how collaboration and the use of technology can benefit those leaving the Armed Forces, which ultimately ensures that we build on the strengths of the Forces community to support the UK's digital economy."
